Slack GPT: The New AI Tool to Boost Productivity in Team Collaboration
Introducing Generative AI Tools in Slack to Streamline Workflows and Enhance Employee Performance
Slack, the platform for team collaboration, is planning to introduce generative AI tools to enhance employee productivity. These upcoming features are designed to automatically summarize text in channels, as well as draft messages of specific lengths or tones. The new tools are part of Slack GPT and are still in the development phase. Customers will be able to use Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's GPT to instruct chatbots to perform various tasks such as search or answering questions.
Workflow Builder, a no-code automation tool, is also in the works. Users will be able to add generative prompts to perform tasks automatically, such as setting up alerts or writing and sharing documents. The release of Workflow Builder is slated for summer of this year.
Many organizations have been hesitant to use generative AI tools because of the potential risk of confidential information leaks. However, Slack promises that text generated or processed through Slack GPT will not be used to train language models, which should allay concerns.
In addition, Slack is developing the Einstein GPT app to support existing Salesforce services in its CRM software. Users of Salesforce Customer 360 data and Data Cloud can use language models to create leads, emails, meetings, or plans. The app can even handle code, allowing developers to request chatbots to write short programs or fix bugs.
Slack states that only 27% of companies currently use AI tools despite its potential to boost productivity by 90%. Slack believes that generative AI technology can unlock significant productivity gains for organizations.
Slack GPT and Einstein GPT release dates are not yet known. Anthropic's Claude integration is currently available, while ChatGPT integration is in beta. The addition of generative AI tools could significantly benefit Slack and its users, streamlining workflows and increasing productivity. As AI technology advances, we can expect more companies to incorporate AI into their products and services.
